Load your character as avatar:
For some reasons, we cannot load a "inlined" VRML model as avatar directly.
So load first the avatar to the origin of the current virtual world: Object->Load
in place or press Crtl+p and choose msc_avatar_yourName.vr. In the tutorial world the origin is behind you at the end of the street. So turn around and move towards your character. You can check now whether your model is correctly on the ground and has the right scale and texture. If you click on it you trigger the interaction script and see the gestures you have designed.
Now select the model: click on it, while you press the shift
key - the model should blink once in wireframe to show that it is selected.
Go to Self->Change avatar. Now, you are represented by your own
character in the virtual world of DIVE.
You should delete your old default avatar. Turn around (left/right arrow keys on keyboard) and Shift-click on the "body_blockie" with your user name on top.
